Leader - Chair Miranda, female human Rogue

Syband was the leader of a merchant’s guild known for their stranglehold on water trade. When they joined the offensive against the Orcs they proved themselves a capable military force, as well. After the battles were over they shrugged off accusations of war profiteering and returned to what they did best. They solidified their control of the flood lands, marshes, and lush foothills along the northern Scar Mountains. The current Sybandite government is just as corrupt and brutal as their founders. Although slavery is illegal by Royal decree, they twist the definition of indentured servitude and debtor’s prison such that the difference is in name only. They have maintained their stranglehold on water transportation and they exploit this wherever possible. They also run the best party towns in the entire kingdoms where anything can be had, for the right price. Their wineries don’t produce much volume, but the quality is very high. One winery, situated on the slopes of the Scar Mountains, produces enchanted vintages from their magically tainted vines. The people of Syband are born to oppression and most spend their lives trying to avoid the notice of those in power. The Sybandite government is on civil terms with most governments out of necessity due to their control of water trade, but they are on the verge of war with their competition, the Grendallians. The Sybandite navy is the undisputed ruler of the waterways, but their army is unremarkable.
