Mega Turtles

Session 1 - Sept 26th, 2008

After a month of training, we start hunting for something to do.

We find out that a bridge town in Grendalli is having trouble. Something is attacking and destroying boats on the river and even wiping out the docs.

We head there and find out, after some investigation that it might be gigantic turtles.

So we laid a trap, or perhaps it might be termed ... going fishing..

We tied a raft onto the bridge, and Trona waited on it. Meanwhile Millain stayed underwater as a fish, and the rest of us stayed either on shore or on the bridge.

Just when we were beginning to get bored, something huge nudged the raft. Millain and Trona saw that it was a huge Turtle, Trona joined battle with it, metting out enough damage that the beast decided running was the better strategy.

Nasar shapechanged into a small white dragon, figuring he could hit it with some cold breath, but found himself chasing the beast downstream as Millain burst forth from the water as a bird and joined in the pursuit.

That beast could really move! And as we ended the session we were still chasing it downstream...

Session 2 - Nov 11th, 2008

The chase continues...

While Millain and Nasar trail the injured huge turtle downstream, Trona and the others stay near the bridge to deal with the apparent second mega-turtle.

Millain lands, changes to a cheetah and dashes ahead to summon water creatures to attack the mega-turtle, but it steams and swats and snaps them to pieces. Nasar tries a scorching ray, but mostly boils a lot of water, Millain fires off a fireball, and Nasar (invisible in a strafing run) manages to dodge the fireball. Using the breath weapon of the white dragon form he is in, Nasar dives and scores a hit on the turtle. Unbeknownst to us, the turtle uses some magical tablets to heal itself...

Meanwhile Trona manages to kill the other mega-turtle, then they head on down the river racing on her steed enhanced with water walking.

The turtle decides it's best to run, while try a few more things then Trona arrives and manages to deliver the killing blow...

In dealing with their bodies, we find out they were likely a mated pair, and that there are probably eggs somewhere...

We don't get much in the way of loot, but do get granted a plot of land and the free building of an Inn that we've decided to call The Snapping Turtle. Apparently the lord of the land figures it's a good idea to have us tied to the area...

We have fun at the party in our honour and then head back to our home town Caltha'na'b, to try to talk to the nearby Fey and wait for the messenger from The Keep.
