Alfdis has worked her way up from a lowly general hand on dangerous caravan routes, through teamster and caravan leader, to her current position as the merchant guild’s representative in the lucrative trade route through the Keep. Her half-orc heritage has dogged her all of the way, and she suspects that is why she received this post, rather than other less “prestigious” posts that would put her within sight of the upper echelon of the guild. Very much the type to rise to adversity, she has taken this as an opportunity to expand the influence of the local merchant’s guild to the point where Hafgim comes up from Dallford to see her for economic advice. Officially, her status at the Keep is merchant quartermaster (supplies officer) and she has all the privileges of a high-ranking officer. The military quartermaster is non-existent at the Keep, having been replaced by the merchant quartermaster almost two centuries ago as a matter of practicality. She is constantly looking for caravan escorts, rare goods (usually skins, etc), and has been known to pay teams to retrieve specific items/creatures. She also has significant ties to the thriving local black market. She is very protective of her employees, especially caravan guards due to her early days on the caravans.
